The Training Achievement and Potential Employability Report or (T.A.P.E.R), is a document provided to individuals previously incarcerated in New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) facilities. The T.A.P.E.R. provides a wealth of information about vocational training received, job titles trained for, and any educational programs completed. The T.A.P.E.R can include information on programming from more than one facility if an individual was transferred. Because this document highlights skills, abilities, and education that one has acquired during incarceration, it can be extremely useful in writing or editing a resume. In addition, it may be useful when applying for a New York State Apprenticeship as it can highlight related and relevant skills one has used and trained for.

During this webinar we will review the following topics:
• Review the different types of information found on a T.A.P.E.R.
• Review of a guide to help explain the different sections of a T.A.P.E.R.
• Benefits of having a T.A.P.E.R. document (if previously incarcerated)
• Instructions for requesting a free copy of this document from the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS).

For participants with disabilities, if you require any reasonable accommodations to participate in the event, please notify the Customer Engagement unit at least 72 hours prior to the event at [email protected]. We will make every reasonable effort to secure an accommodation that will meet your needs.
